Summary

Expand and support African American history education. This bill would authorize the Director of the National Museum of African American History and Culture to use funds under section 5 to create resources, run programs, and strengthen collections to reach schools, families, and the public.

Annual $4 million for museum

If enacted, the bill would authorize $4,000,000 per year to carry out this Act. The authorization would cover fiscal year 2027 and each of the four succeeding fiscal years. Actual spending would require later congressional appropriations and would not itself change your taxes or benefits.

More African American history education

If enacted, the bill would let the National Museum of African American History and Culture use appropriated money for many education and outreach activities. This would include digital and print resources, traveling exhibitions, website content for educators, and translation of materials. It would let the Director convene experts, run programming with a social-justice and anti-bias lens, expand collections and digitization, and provide teacher training and fellowships. Use of funds would be at the Director's discretion and would depend on amounts appropriated under section 5.
