Summary
A mandatory GAO audit to force transparency into the United States–Venezuela energy deal. This bill would require the Government Accountability Office to review actions by the Department of State, the Department of Energy, the Department of the Treasury, and any other federal agencies, employees, contractors, or entities funded by the United States involved in implementing the deal.

- Would require the GAO to audit the January 6, 2026 U.S.–Venezuela energy deal and all federal actors involved. The audit must begin no later than 30 days after enactment.
- Requires an interim briefing to the chair and ranking member of each jurisdictional committee and subcommittee in the House and Senate no later than 30 days after the audit finishes. A detailed unclassified report must be submitted to congressional leaders and any requesting Member within 90 days of audit completion and may include a classified annex.
- Directs the Comptroller General to notify committee chairs and ranking members as soon as practicable if any federal department, employee, contractor, or funded entity unreasonably delays or denies access to information.
