Protect Chi'chil Bimdagoteel Historic District

If enacted, this bill would name the Chi'chil Bimdagoteel Historic District a traditional cultural place on Tonto National Forest land and on land moved to Resolution Copper around March 13, 2026. It would define Resolution Copper as the company formed by Rio Tinto and BHP that acquired about 2,422 acres for copper extraction. The bill would require the Secretary of Agriculture to keep the National Forest System land in the district in its natural condition and to consult government-to-government with Indian Tribes tied to the place. It would also withdraw the National Forest System land in the district from public-land and mining laws and ban mining-related activities like rights-of-way, toxic waste pipelines, utilities, waste disposal, and new or expanded roads.
