More training for PMDD clinicians

This bill would fund grants to accredited schools, hospitals, and residency programs to develop or expand training on PMDD for physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and trainees. Eligible entities would need to apply as the Secretary requires, and the Secretary would expand outreach and establish new training opportunities addressing mid-life women's health and related conditions. The bill would also direct HRSA to create and share continuing medical education materials for providers. Grant funding would be authorized for fiscal years 2027 through 2031 and education funding for fiscal years 2026 through 2030.

More research and trials for PMDD

This bill would direct the National Institutes of Health to expand and intensify research on PMDD causes, risk factors, diagnosis, and treatment. It would fund clinical trials to develop improved PMDD treatments and require efforts to include diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic populations. Funding would be authorized as necessary for fiscal years 2027 through 2031.

PMDD data collection and reporting

This bill would require HHS to collect and publish data on PMDD prevalence and incidence, the economic and workforce impact of PMDD, and barriers to diagnosis and treatment. It would also require the Secretary to report to Congress on progress within two years after enactment. Funding would be authorized as necessary for fiscal years 2027 through 2031 to support these activities.

Public campaign on PMDD symptoms

This bill would require HHS to run a public health campaign to raise patient and provider awareness of PMDD symptoms and treatment options. The campaign would aim to reduce stigma around menstrual health and encourage timely medical care, and it would be coordinated through Department programs. Funding would be authorized as necessary for fiscal years 2026 through 2030.
