Army Security Agency Monument Act
Sponsored By: Representative Rep. Adams, Alma S. [D-NC-12]
Introduced
Summary
Creates a monument honoring Army Security Agency veterans who served from 1945 through 1976 at Arlington National Cemetery. The bill would direct the Secretary of the Army to place a monument on a non-burial plot with base dimensions of 52 inches by 18 inches. The design must be approved by the Secretary and the National Army Security Agency Association. If Arlington cannot accommodate the monument as described the Secretary must place it outside the cemetery entrance. The Secretary may place the monument only after entering an agreement with the Association under which the Association pays all costs for site preparation, construction, installation, and maintenance and accepts other terms the Secretary requires. Service eras named include World War II, the Korean Conflict, the Vietnam Era, and the Cold War Era as those terms are defined in federal law.
