This bill would designate February 2026 as Hawaiian Language Month (Olelo Hawaiʻi Month). It would affirm support for preserving, protecting, and promoting Olelo Hawaiʻi under the Native American Languages Act, acknowledge the language's past suppression, and highlight community-led revival that now includes more than 20,000 speakers and an increase in public Hawaiian immersion campuses from 14 in 2016 to 26 in 2026.
