- Women and girls and families: Would spotlight the unequal burden of HIV on women and girls in the United States and globally. African-American women account for about 50 percent of new HIV diagnoses among women in the U.S.
- Health care providers and pregnant people: Would encourage routine HIV screening for ages 13 through 64 and universal screening of pregnant women and promote access to PrEP, post-exposure prophylaxis, and antiretroviral therapy to prevent mother-to-child transmission.
- Global and youth-focused efforts: Would urge U.S. investment and diplomatic engagement to cut new infections and address drivers like gender-based violence and limited sexual and reproductive health access. Globally, 44 percent of new HIV infections in 2023 occurred among women and girls.
