This resolution would recognize Clela Ann Rorex as a pioneer for civil rights and for same-sex marriage. It would record her biography and actions: born July 23, 1943 in Denver, became Boulder County Clerk at 31 in January 1975, issued the first U.S. marriage license to a same-sex couple to Dave McCord and Dave Zamora in April 1975 and five more licenses that month, faced death threats, continued LGBTQ advocacy, died June 19, 2022, and the House would express support for a "Clela Rorex Day".
