Ensuring Benefits for Disabled Veterans Act
Sponsored By: Senator Angus King
Introduced
Summary
Removes a statutory limit that prevented some disabled veterans from receiving both Veteran Readiness and Employment (VRE) services and VA education benefits. The bill would repeal subsection (b) of 38 U.S.C. §3695 and redesignate subsection (c) as subsection (b), eliminating that restriction and reorganizing the statute’s text without creating new programs, funding, or other eligibility changes.

More VA education help for veterans
If enacted, disabled veterans who qualify for both programs would be able to receive Veteran Readiness and Employment assistance and Department of Veterans Affairs education benefits at the same time. The bill would repeal the statute's prior limit that could stop beneficiaries from getting both kinds of help and would renumber the remaining subsection. The change would take effect upon enactment.
