The law lets the Town of Haverstraw assessor accept a late application from the Thiells-Roseville Fire District for a school and property tax exemption for the 2024–2025 assessment roll. It applies only to parcels at 1 Angelus Drive and 69, 65, 63, and 63A West Ramapo Road in Haverstraw. The assessor reviews it as if filed on time and, with Town Board approval, may grant the exemption and fix the roll. If the exemption is granted and any 2024–2025 taxes were paid, local officials may refund those taxes and any fines or penalties, and cancel unpaid taxes, interest, or liens.
