4 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.
Renewal deadline tied to renewal date
The filing deadline changes from January 15 to 15 days after your renewal date. This applies to filings under section 763(d), including some nonresident producers. Your deadline now moves with your own renewal schedule.
Two-year renewals for individual producers
Beginning October 1, 2026, individual insurance producer licenses renew every two years. Your license expires on the last day of your birth month in the second year after it was issued or last renewed. This applies to both resident and nonresident individuals.
Training proof required to renew
You cannot renew your insurance producer license unless you submit proof you met the required continuing education. You must provide this proof when you apply to renew.
Annual renewals for producer businesses
If your business holds a Virgin Islands insurance producer license, it lasts one year. It expires on December 31 each year. This sets a single annual renewal date for producer businesses, including nonresident entities.
