Faster eviction writs with 14-day wait
When a court rules for the landlord, it enters judgment for possession and for any unpaid rent, damages, and court costs. The court may award attorney’s fees only if the written rental agreement allows them. A writ of possession issues the same day as the judgment unless the court stays it for good cause. The county sheriff must serve the writ and wait at least 14 days after service before putting the landlord into possession. The law takes effect on passage.
