Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 3— - FORESTS; FOREST SERVICE; REFORESTATION; MANAGEMENT › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER I— - GENERAL PROVISIONS › § 577g–1
The Treasury must pay Minnesota each fiscal year 0.75% of the fair appraised value of the national-forest lands in the area described in section 577d–1. The money comes from national-forest receipts not otherwise used and is divided among the three counties based on each county’s appraised value. The Agriculture Secretary sets the appraised value every ten years and that decision is final. The first payment was due at the close of fiscal year 1959. Section 500 of this title does not apply to these lands.
