Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 87B— - MODERNIZING ACCESS TO PUBLIC WATERS › § 6874
Allow the Secretaries to work with non-Federal, private, and nonprofit partners—like State and Tribal resource agencies, tech and geospatial companies, and data experts—and to hire third parties to help carry out this chapter. They can also ask the U.S. Geological Survey to collect, combine, digitize, standardize, and publish data for them. Any data must follow applicable Federal, State, and Tribal laws and rules, and geospatial data must include a notice that those laws apply. When possible, the Secretaries should use existing data and maps, including material from the Modernizing Access to Our Public Land Act (16 U.S.C. 6851 et seq.), section 776 of title 43, or other laws.
