Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 9— - FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE › § 742e
The Director of the Office of Management and Budget must move any federal duties that are mainly about developing, improving, managing, conserving, or protecting commercial fisheries to the Secretary of the Interior. This includes duties now done by the Agriculture and Commerce departments and any other agencies the Director names. The State Department still keeps its power to make international treaties or agreements about fisheries and wildlife. The OMB Director must also transfer the staff, property, facilities, records, and unused funds needed for those duties to the Department of the Interior. The Secretary can ask other federal agencies for advice or help. Those agencies may spend their own money to help and can be paid back if the Secretary and the agency agree.
