It is a crime to knowingly or fraudulently export or try to export goods from the United States in ways that break U.S. laws or rules. It is also illegal to receive, hide, buy, sell, or otherwise help move or conceal those goods before export if you know they are meant to be exported illegally. A person who does this can be fined, jailed for up to 10 years, or both. The term "United States" is used as defined in section 545.
