§3008 Authorization of appropriations; reservations and distribution of funds

Summary

Gives specific yearly amounts that may be spent for the program: $44,000,000 for fiscal year 2023, $45,980,000 for 2024, $48,049,100 for 2025, $50,211,310 for 2026, and $52,470,819 for 2027. Each year the Secretary must first set aside 3% of that year’s money for the activities listed in section 3005(b). After that, the rest is split so 85.5% goes to programs under section 3003 and 14.5% goes to programs under section 3004. If a year’s total is over $49,000,000, the Secretary may first reserve up to the smaller of the amount over $49,000,000 or $2,000,000 for section 3006.
