Defines key words used in the chapter. "Mineral leasing laws" means the Acts of October 20, 1914 (38 Stat. 741); February 25, 1920 (41 Stat. 437); April 17, 1926 (44 Stat. 301); February 7, 1927 (44 Stat. 1057); and any later laws that change or add to those Acts. "Leasing Act minerals" means the minerals that, on August 11, 1955, the mineral leasing laws said could be leased. "Lignite" means coal listed as ASTM designation D 388–38 and treated as valuable in public-land deposits under the coal-land rules set by the Secretary of the Interior and in section 30, Code of Federal Regulations, part 201. "Source material" means uranium, thorium, or any other material the Atomic Energy Commission has declared to be source material under section 2091 of title 42.
