Title 31 › Subtitle SUBTITLE V— - GENERAL ASSISTANCE ADMINISTRATION › Chapter CHAPTER 67— - FEDERAL PAYMENTS › § 6714
Creates a written fix that the Secretary approves to correct a local government’s failure to follow section 6711(a) or (b). The fix can be a deal between the government office that pressed the complaint and the local chief executive (like a mayor), or it can be a deal directly between the Secretary and that chief executive. The deal must say what the local government will do to meet its duties under 6711(a) and (b), cover every problem found, and can be handled in several linked agreements. The Secretary must send a copy of the approved deal to each person who filed a complaint referred under section 6716(b), or, if the deal was made with a government prosecutor, to each person who filed a complaint with that authority. The copy must be sent by the 15th day after the agreement is made, or if the Secretary approves a pre-made deal under the first type, by the 15th day after that approval.
