When a veteran who gets a pension disappears, the Secretary can pay that pension to the veteran’s spouse and children. The Secretary can assume the veteran’s disability, income, and assets stayed the same without section 1506(a) reports, and payments cannot exceed the non‑service‑connected death benefit.
