The money is to create, test, and share research, demonstration projects, and model training for health schools and continuing education. The training covers cultural understanding, prevention, public health skills, reducing health gaps, and working with people with disabilities, plus other related purposes the Secretary finds appropriate. Applications can come from health schools, academic health centers, state or local governments, nonprofit groups, or consortia. The Secretary must work with professional societies, licensing and accreditation bodies, schools, minority health and disability experts, community groups, and others. Model curricula must be shared through the Internet Clearinghouse and other ways the Secretary chooses. The Secretary must also check how the training is adopted and used and help include these skills in quality measurement systems when appropriate.
