Title 42 › Chapter CHAPTER 82— - SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER X— - DEMONSTRATION MEDICAL WASTE TRACKING PROGRAM › § 6992c
EPA workers can ask anyone who makes, stores, treats, moves, disposes of, or handles medical waste to give information, show tracking forms, do tests or monitoring, and let the workers see and copy records at reasonable times. The workers may enter places where medical waste is or was handled, do testing, and take samples of waste, containers, or labels. Inspections must start and finish without unnecessary delay. If samples are taken, the worker must give a receipt and, if asked and possible, an equal portion of the sample. Test results must be given quickly to the person in charge. Records and reports are handled under section 6927(b) the same way as other records covered by section 6927.
