§70119 Civil penalty

Summary
Anyone who breaks this chapter or its rules must pay the United States up to $25,000 for each day the violation continues, but the total fine for that violation cannot be more than $50,000.

(a)Any person that violates this chapter or any regulation under this chapter shall be liable to the United States for a civil penalty of not more than $25,000 for each day during which the violation continues.
(b)The maximum amount of a civil penalty for a violation under this section shall not exceed $50,000.
