Monthly disability pay, including any augmented pay but not extra add-on pay, cannot be more than 75 percent of the highest GS‑15 monthly basic pay. For total disability it cannot be less than 75 percent of the lowest GS‑2 monthly basic pay or the employee’s monthly pay, whichever is less. Those limits do not apply if the disability was caused by an assault during an assassination or attempted assassination of a federal official and happened while the employee was on duty.
