Title 7 › Chapter CHAPTER 9— - PACKERS AND STOCKYARDS › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER V— - GENERAL PROVISIONS › § 228b–1
Live poultry dealers must pay cash sellers the full amount by the end of the next business day after purchase. If the birds come from a poultry growing arrangement, dealers must pay the full amount by the end of the fifteenth day after the slaughter week. Trying to delay getting or paying these funds is an “unfair practice.” A cash sale means the seller does not expressly extend credit to the buyer.
