Summary

The CDC is asking for your thoughts on their forms used to track breast and cervical cancer screenings. They want to make sure the forms are useful, clear, and not too much work for people to fill out. You’ve got 30 days to share your ideas, helping shape how this important health info is collected without wasting time or money.

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Who NBCCEDP Serves: Income, Age, Insurance

The NBCCEDP funds 71 recipients to increase breast and cervical cancer screening for women who are at or below 250% of the federal poverty level, aged 50–75 years for breast cancer services and 21–64 years for cervical cancer services, and who are under- or uninsured. Services promoted include mammography, Pap, and HPV tests.

NBCCEDP Awardees Must Submit Revised Forms

If you are an NBCCEDP awardee (one of the 71 funded recipients), you must continue to submit monitoring forms: an Annual NBCCEDP Survey, baseline and annual clinic-level data, a Quarterly Program Update (four times per year), a Service Delivery Projection Worksheet, and Minimum Data Elements. CDC estimates 71 respondents and a total annualized burden of 1,162 hours, requests OMB approval for three years, and says there are no costs to respondents other than their time.

Demographic Question Update Delayed Until 2027

CDC will not revise NBCCEDP demographic items now to align with HHS best practices for sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) and race and ethnicity (R/E). CDC plans to revise demographic questions to align with HHS SOGI and R/E guidelines for the next funding cycle beginning in 2027.
