Energy Producers Must Share Emissions

If you own an electricity generating facility or energy storage technology, the Department of Energy plans to collect greenhouse gas emissions information so DOE can provide an emissions value you may use to petition the IRS for a Provisional Emissions Rate (PER) and claim section 45Y or 48E tax credits. DOE expects about 20 respondents, estimates a total of 800 annual burden hours, and an annual reporting cost burden of $77,368; comments are due by March 14, 2025.
