This applies in the District of Columbia, throughout the United States, its Territories and possessions, and at U.S. facilities overseas, and is stated to have no cost impact.

30-Day Half-Staff to Honor Jimmy Carter

After the end of Inauguration Day 2025, flags will be returned to half-staff to honor former President Jimmy Carter for the period of 30 days from the day of his death, as directed by Proclamation 10876 of December 29, 2024. This applies at the White House, public buildings and grounds, military posts and naval stations, naval vessels, and U.S. embassies and consular offices worldwide.
