50% Tariff Added to Some Canadian Goods

Certain products of Canada listed in Annex I, Part A will be subject to an additional ad valorem duty of 50 percent when imported into the United States. This additional 50% duty applies to goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. eastern time on September 15, 2026.

New Duties Apply Alongside Section 232 Tariffs

The additional ad valorem duties imposed under Proclamation 11046, as modified by this proclamation, will apply in addition to duties imposed pursuant to section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962 (19 U.S.C. 1862). This stacking of duties is effective for goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. eastern time on September 15, 2026.

Some Canadian Goods Removed From 50% Duty

Certain products of Canada listed in Annex I, Part B will no longer be subject to the additional ad valorem duty of 50 percent. The removal of the 50% duty applies to goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. eastern time on September 15, 2026.

HTSUS Modified to Reflect Duty Changes

The Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) is modified as provided in Annex II to this proclamation, effective with respect to goods entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. eastern time on September 15, 2026. Those HTSUS modifications will continue in effect unless expressly suspended, revoked, supplemented, amended, or terminated.
