Opportunity To Subsidize Service Ends June 9, 2025
Anyone who wants to subsidize continued rail service must file a formal expression of intent to file an Offer of Financial Assistance (OFA) by June 9, 2025 and show preliminary financial responsibility. If no OFA is filed, the discontinuance becomes effective on June 27, 2025; petitions to stay (non-environmental) are due June 6, 2025, and petitions for reconsideration are due June 17, 2025.

CSX will discontinue train service over a 5.75-mile line in Chesterfield County, South Carolina (milepost SJ 299 to SJ 304.75, ZIP 29101). The discontinuance will take effect on June 27, 2025 unless a formal expression of intent to subsidize continued service (an OFA) is filed first.
