Very Large Fleets Face Big Fee Jump

If your operation owns or operates 1,001 or more commercial motor vehicles, the UCR fee would rise from $44,836 to $54,165 for registration year 2027, an increase of $9,329 per entity. This change is part of the UCR Plan's proposal to close a projected $21.79 million shortfall and reach $118 million in required revenue.

UCR Fees Rise ~20% Starting 2027

If you are a motor carrier, motor private carrier of property, broker, freight forwarder, or leasing company, the Unified Carrier Registration fees increase on average by 20% for the 2027 registration year and subsequent years. Fees remain the same for 2026, and the proposed increase ranges from $9 to $9,329 per entity depending on fleet size (for example, $46 → $55 for 0-2 CMVs and $4,592 → $5,548 for 101-1,000 CMVs).
