Summary
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is asking the public for comments on the environmental effects of restarting the Constitution Pipeline and Wright Interconnect Projects in Pennsylvania and New York. These projects, which were approved but never finished, could impact local communities and nature. Your input now helps shape the environmental review before any construction moves forward, so speak up soon!
Analyzed Economic Effects
4 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.
Landowners face land disturbance and easements
Construction would disturb about 1,871.5 acres of land and the projects would permanently maintain about 761.5 acres. Landowners who may be right-of-way grantors, whose property could be used temporarily, or who own homes near aboveground facilities are included on the project mailing list and may be affected (including topics like eminent domain described in the FERC landowner fact sheet).
Project adds regional gas capacity and facilities
The Projects would construct 124.4 miles of new 30-inch pipeline, expand the Wright Compressor Station with 22,000 horsepower of incremental compression, and provide up to 650,000 dekatherms per day (Dth/d) of additional natural gas transportation capacity to markets in New York and New England.
