Notice

Summary

The Department of Commerce is asking for approval to keep collecting info from businesses on the Entity List and Unverified List, which affect companies needing special export licenses. If a company wants off these lists, they can request it, and several government departments will review their case. This process takes about 15 hours per request and helps keep trade safe and fair without adding new costs or deadlines right now.

Process to Ask to Be Removed From Lists

If your company appears on the Entity List (15 CFR part 744, Supp. No. 4) or the Unverified List (15 CFR part 744, Supp. No. 6), you may submit a voluntary request to BIS to remove or modify that entry. Requests to remove an entity from the Entity List will be reviewed by the Departments of Commerce, State, Defense, and as appropriate Energy and Treasury, and BIS will communicate the final decision; Unverified List removal requests will be reviewed by the Department of Commerce and the final decision communicated by BIS.

Time Burden to Prepare Removal Requests

Preparing a request to be removed or have an entry modified takes about 15 hours per response; the collection estimates 20 respondents and 300 total burden hours under OMB Control Number 0694-0134. Responding is voluntary and occurs on occasion.
