UL Seeks Expanded NRTL Recognition

UL LLC applied on August 8, 2025 to expand its recognition as a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) to add three test standards (UL 1004-9; UL 979; UL 2683). OSHA has preliminarily determined to grant the expansion, and NRTL recognition enables employers to use products approved by the NRTL to meet OSHA standards that require product testing and certification.

UL 2683 Proposed for NRTL List

OSHA proposes to add the test standard UL 2683, "Electric Heating Systems for Floor and Ceiling Installation," to the NRTL Program's List of Appropriate Test Standards. OSHA has preliminarily determined UL 2683 is appropriate for inclusion and seeks public comment as part of its review.
