Price Data Used for Federal Payments and Fees

NASS price estimates will be used by Federal agencies to compute Parity Prices, estimate value of production and cash receipts, set levels for farmer-owned reserves, provide guidelines for Risk Management Agency price options, determine Federal disaster prices to be paid, input into NIPA and GDP, support ERS net farm income projections, and determine grazing fees on Federal lands.

New Annual Hay Price Survey Burden

The USDA/NASS is adding an Annual Hay Prices collection to OMB Control No. 0535-0003. The new annual hay survey will be conducted annually, increases total respondent burden by 210 hours, and is part of a program that now lists 40,500 respondents and 25,415 total burden hours across weekly, monthly, quarterly, biennial, and annual surveys.
