Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 2 costs, 0 mixed.

Remittance Forms Required for FCC Payments

If you make any payment to the FCC (for regulatory fees, application filing fees, auctions, fines, FOIA billings, or other debts), a remittance advice form (FCC Form 159 family or a remittance voucher) must accompany the payment. The collection is OMB Control Number 3060-0589, covers 238,044 respondents with an estimated 15 minutes (0.25 hours) per response and a total annual burden of 59,511 hours.

Small Businesses (<25) Invited to Comment

The FCC specifically asks for comments on how to further reduce the information collection burden for small business concerns with fewer than 25 employees. Written comments must be submitted on or before July 13, 2026.

Regulatory Fees Must Be Paid Electronically

The FCC states that beginning in Fiscal Year 2014, all regulatory fee payments must be made electronically, and the Commission will no longer mail initial regulatory fee assessments to CMRS providers. This remains part of the Commission's procedures supporting the remittance forms.
