Opportunity to Join Trade Advisory Committee

The Department of Commerce is accepting nominations for the Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee (ETTAC). You can apply online and must submit nominations by 5:00 p.m. EDT on August 7, 2026; members represent U.S. environmental technologies manufacturers, trade associations, States, and related organizations.

Service Is Unpaid; Travel Not Reimbursed

If you serve on ETTAC, members will not be compensated and will not be reimbursed for travel expenses. Members must attend about eight meetings during the 2026–2028 charter, including required in-person meetings on February 9, 2027; June 1, 2027; February 8, 2028; and July 18, 2028.

Eligibility Limits: U.S. Citizens Only

To be eligible for ETTAC membership you must be a U.S. citizen, must not be registered as a foreign agent under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, and may not represent a company majority-owned or controlled by a foreign government. Nominees must represent U.S. entities or organizations engaged in environmental technologies trade.

Small Business Representation Required

The Secretary of Commerce will appoint approximately 30 to 45 members, and must appoint at least one individual representing environmental businesses, including small businesses. Appointees serve in a representative capacity and appointments are non-transferable.
