Pipeline to fuel Miami Fort Plant

Texas Gas proposes building a new roughly 12-mile, 20-inch natural gas delivery lateral to supply Vistra Corporation’s Miami Fort Power Plant. The project would create 265,000 dekatherms per day of firm natural gas transportation service and is estimated to cost $86,247,503.

New rate for added pipeline capacity

Texas Gas proposes a new incremental recourse rate that would apply to the Project capacity created by the lateral. The application on file with the Commission includes the proposed new rate for the added service.

FERC environmental review timing and 90‑day authorization window

Within 90 days of this notice, FERC staff will either complete its environmental review and place it in the public record or issue a Notice of Schedule for Environmental Review. If an EA or FEIS is issued, federal and state agencies will be notified and must complete all necessary federal authorizations within 90 days of the date of issuance of the FEIS or EA.

90-day public comment and intervention deadline

Members of the public can file comments, protests, or motions to intervene with no fee. The deadline to file a motion to intervene or to submit comments or protests is 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on July 6, 2026, and FERC offers eComment, eFiling, and paper filing options.

Clean Water Act Section 401 certifications required

Texas Gas stated that a Clean Water Act section 401 water quality certification is required from the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet--Department of Environmental Protection and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management. Texas Gas must submit to the Commission a copy of the request for certification and either the certifying agency's decision or evidence of waiver.
