Proposed Rule

Summary

If you have thoughts, you’ve got until August 6, 2026, to speak up—no costs for the public, just safer skies!

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

New Controlled Airspace Around Belmont

The FAA proposes Class E airspace starting at 700 feet above the surface around Tishomingo County Airport in Belmont, MS. The airspace would cover a 6.9-mile radius of the airport and a corridor 2 miles each side of the 168° bearing from that radius to 12.8 miles south of the airport to help manage instrument flight (IFR) operations.

Minimal Economic Burden on Operators

The FAA says the proposal is expected to cause at most de minimis costs from complying with operating requirements or minor flight rerouting, and certifies it will not have a significant economic impact on a substantial number of small entities under the Regulatory Flexibility Act.
