Triennial PATH Program Evaluation

SAMHSA is required by Section 528 of the Public Health Service Act to evaluate PATH grantees at least once every 3 years. The evaluation covers all 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico, and four U.S. Territories and will guide recommendations on program design and operations.

State PATH Contact Web Survey Burden

All 56 State PATH Contacts (SPCs) will be contacted to complete a web survey once per triennial evaluation cycle. Each SPC web survey is estimated to take 1 hour; the document lists an hourly wage of $37.61 and an aggregate survey cost of $2,106.16.

Site Visits and Consumer Focus Groups

SAMHSA will conduct site visits with a purposive sample of 5 grantees (with one to two PATH providers per grantee) once per triennial evaluation cycle. The total planned respondents across site visits and focus groups are 361 responses totaling 578.5 hours and an estimated total cost of $15,896.39; consumer focus groups are planned for 100 participants at 1.5 hours each with an hourly rate of $7.25 (total consumer cost $1,087.50).
