Summary
Flood hazard determinations, which may include additions or modifications of Base Flood Elevations (BFEs), base flood depths, Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) boundaries or zone designations, or regulatory floodways on the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) and where applicable, in the supporting Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports have been made final for the communities listed in the table below. The FIRM and FIS report are the basis of the floodplain management measures that a community is required either to adopt or to show evidence of having an effect in order to qualify or remain qualified for participation in the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA's) National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).

Final Flood Hazard Determinations Effective July 21, 2026
If you own or lease property in the listed communities (Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Hampton Counties in South Carolina, and San Augustine County, Texas), new flood hazard determinations are final effective July 21, 2026. These final determinations may change Base Flood Elevations (BFEs), base flood depths, Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) boundaries or zone designations, or regulatory floodways, and communities must adopt or show evidence of floodplain management measures to qualify or remain qualified for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
Updated Flood Maps Available at Repositories and Online
Interested property owners and lessees can inspect the new or revised Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) and Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports at the community map repository addresses listed in the notice or online through the FEMA Map Service Center (https://msc.fema.gov) by July 21, 2026. The notice encourages owners and lessees to review these materials for the communities named in the table.

Pursuant to the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974, as amended, the Administrator of FEMA is publishing this notice describing the fiscal year (FY) 2025 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) and Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S) grant programs application processes, deadlines and award selection criteria. This notice explains the differences, if any, between these guidelines and those recommended by representatives of the national fire service leadership during the annual meeting of the Criteria Development Panel (CDP), which was held September 9, 2025. The application period for the FY 2025 AFG Program was May 19, 2026, to June 22, 2026, and the FY 2025 FP&S Program was May 19, 2026, to June 22, 2026. The application periods were announced on the FEMA Fire Grant website at https://www.fema.gov/grants/ preparedness/firefighters, as well as at https://www.grants.gov.

This notice lists communities where the addition or modification of Base Flood Elevations (BFEs), base flood depths, Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) boundaries or zone designations, or the regulatory floodway (hereinafter referred to as flood hazard determinations), as shown on the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), and where applicable, in the supporting Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports, prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for each community, is appropriate because of new scientific or technical data. The FIRM, and where applicable, portions of the FIS report, have been revised to reflect these flood hazard determinations through issuance of a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR), in accordance with Federal Regulations. The current effective community number is shown in the table below and must be used for all new policies and renewals.
