Virginia SNAP: No Sweetened Beverages
The State of Virginia requested and received FNA approval (approved December 10, 2025) for a SNAP demonstration to change the SNAP definition of food by excluding "sweetened beverages." Virginia submitted the project request on November 4, 2025 and on February 3, 2026 asked to set the implementation date to October 1, 2026. Written comments on the project must be received by October 15, 2026.
