Pipeline and Compressor Station Proposed
Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company proposes to build a 1.54-mile, 30-inch natural gas transmission pipeline and modify three meter stations in Nueces County, Texas, and to construct a new 15,900-horsepower compressor station in Brooks County, Texas. If you own land in Brooks or Nueces Counties, the proposal could involve construction on or near your property; one landowner has already raised safety and encroachment concerns.
EA Will Address Water, Air, and Tribal Issues
The EA will address issues raised by agencies, including water quality and quantity, groundwater, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit coverage, impaired waters, ambient air conditions and air quality, and solid and hazardous waste; the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recommended a waters delineation to determine Clean Water Act permitting. The Water Protector Legal Collective requested an environmental impact statement and full Tribal Consultation, and the notice says all substantive comments will be addressed in the EA.

90-Day Federal Authorization Deadline
Federal agencies and state agencies acting under federally delegated authority that must issue permits or authorizations for the project must make final decisions within 90 days of the Commission staff's environmental document; the 90-day deadline is March 18, 2027.
