Stock Exchange Ditches Pre-Trading Info Circulars

Published Date: 9/30/2026

Notice

Summary

The Long-Term Stock Exchange (LTSE) is changing its rules to stop sending info circulars to members before trading starts on certain exchange-traded products. This means less paperwork and faster trading for members, with no extra costs involved. The change took effect right after filing on September 14, 2026, so members should be ready for a smoother process.

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

No Pre-Trade Info Circulars for UTP ETPs

If you are an LTSE Member (a broker-dealer member), LTSE no longer must distribute an information circular to Members prior to the commencement of trading in each unlisted trading privilege (UTP) Exchange Traded Product. This change became operative upon filing on September 14, 2026, and the Exchange says it will reduce duplicative paperwork and speed the start of trading with no additional costs to Members.

Written Description Aligned with Listing Exchange

If you purchase a UTP Exchange Traded Product, Members must provide you a written description of the terms and characteristics of that security in a form approved by the primary listing exchange (or prepared by the issuer) no later than when the confirmation for your first transaction is delivered. The Exchange also will notify Members that such a written description is required only when the listing exchange mandates it.
