Became Law
Summary
Expanded language access for VA fact sheets. This law requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to translate all VA fact sheets into English, Spanish, Tagalog, and the ten most commonly spoken U.S. languages other than those three. It creates a public website, linked from the VA homepage, with links to fact sheets from the Veterans Benefits Administration, Veterans Health Administration, and National Cemetery Administration, and directs the Secretary to report to Congress within 180 days on which documents count as fact sheets, how they are shared, the Department's Language Access Plan and how it is communicated to veterans, family members, and caregivers, the role of patient advocates for veterans with limited English proficiency, and other demographic details the Secretary deems appropriate.

VA info in more languages online
The VA must run a public website with links to all fact sheets from its benefits, health, and cemetery offices. The VA homepage must show a clear link to that site. Every fact sheet must be available in English, Spanish, Tagalog, and the 10 most common other U.S. languages. Within 180 days of enactment, the VA must report to Congress on its fact sheets and its Language Access Plan. This helps veterans, family members, and caregivers find and understand VA information.
