VA claim forms for military sexual trauma (MST) now include a box to request a referral. You can check it to be connected with the MST coordinator at the nearest VA facility. Service in space now counts as covered service for MST claims. These changes are in effect now.
VA peer support specialists and MST coordinators must get yearly training on MST and claim processing. Peer specialists may give counseling, guidance, and support as set by the VA Under Secretary for Health. They cannot help with the substance of a claim or take part in deciding it. These rules are in effect now.

117-hr-1842, Harriet Tubman Bicentennial Commemorative Coin Act
Creates 2024 commemorative coins honoring Harriet Tubman. The law directs the Treasury to mint three denominations in 2024: up to 50,000 five-dollar gold coins, 400,000 one-dollar silver coins, and 750,000 half-dollar clad coins. Designs must feature Tubman on at least one obverse and include standard inscriptions. The Mint will sell coins in uncirculated and proof qualities and set prices that cover face value, a surcharge, and production costs. Surcharges of $35, $10, and $5 go equally to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and The Harriet Tubman Home, Inc. The law requires that issuing these coins not impose any net cost on the U.S. government.

117-hr-82, Social Security Fairness Act of 2021
Social Security Fairness Act of 2021 This bill repeals provisions that reduce Social Security benefits for individuals who receive other benefits, such as a pension from a state or local government. The bill eliminates the government pension offset, which in various instances reduces Social Security survivors' benefits for spouses, widows, and widowers who also receive government pensions of their own. The bill also eliminates the windfall elimination provision, which in some instances reduces Social Security benefits for individuals who also receive a pension or disability benefit from an employer that did not withhold Social Security taxes. These changes are effective for benefits payable after December 2021.
