Airports get 100% funding for PFAS testing

The law makes the federal share 100% for covered foam (AFFF) input‑based testing equipment and its installation at airports. Covered equipment means AFFF input‑based testing gear that is eligible under FAA PGL 21‑01 or a later guidance letter. This applies to amounts first available in fiscal year 2023 or later. The FAA must tell airports about the higher share within 90 days of enactment and brief Congress within 18 months on ways to reimburse Part 139 airports that already bought this gear with less than full federal funding or without federal funds. The 100% share ends the earlier of 180 days after FAA stops AIP eligibility for this gear or 5 years after enactment.
