Federal land sale to Mesa County
The law requires Interior to sell about 31.1 acres in Clifton, Colorado to Mesa County as soon as practicable. The sale is subject to valid existing rights and proceeds despite old Secretarial Orders from 1902 and 1908. The county pays at least fair market value set by an independent appraisal and covers all costs, including surveys. Sale proceeds go to the Federal Land Disposal Account for use under that law. Interior finalizes the map and legal description; the map controls conflicts and the files are available at Bureau of Land Management offices.
