Sponsored By: Senator Scott, Rick [R-FL]
Became Law
Summary
Requires federal agencies to report when rules they submitted are revoked or otherwise made ineffective to the Comptroller General. The law adds a new subparagraph to 5 U.S.C. 801(a)(1) directing agencies to submit the rule title, the Federal Register citation if any, the date the rule was submitted to the Comptroller General, and a description of the provisions being revoked, suspended, replaced, amended, or otherwise made ineffective. That reporting requirement expires six years after enactment. The act does not change funding or other parts of the Congressional Review Act.
