  • People who bought an electronic stamp for the previous waterfowl season will receive an actual printed stamp after March 10 each year.
  • Federal and state wildlife agencies get clearer rules on what an electronic stamp must contain and how it links to the printed stamp, including the option to include an image of the physical stamp in the electronic version.

Digital duck stamp lasts longer for hunters

Electronic federal duck stamps now count as the required stamp. Your e-stamp is valid the day you buy it. A State e-stamp lasts until the first June 30 after the State issues it, replacing the old 45-day limit. After March 10 each year, the government issues a physical stamp to everyone who bought an e-stamp last season. The e-stamp may show an image of the real stamp.
